Cocchi. 1938.
A Deco cock crows out – its great American appetite has been awakened – on behalf of Cocchi Americano Bianco (pronounced: 'coke-ey ameri-kano), a white wine from the Piedmont region fortified and aromatized with botanicals including chinchona, gentian and citrus. The name "Americano," interestingly enough, is because the alcohol has been made bitter ("americato") by the botanicals; as well as the (seemingly archaic) American habit of drinking vermouth with ice and soda.
