SANFORD HOFFMAN

Stan Getz/Joe Mooney/Dionne Warwick/Carnegie Hall

$300.00

Year: 1965

Size: 23 x 35 inches

Hoffman renders this jazzy threesome using a thick, fluid line that recalls great Belle Epoque posterists such as Toulouse-Lautrec and the Beggarstaffs. Perfectly in keeping: the vaguely Art Nouveau lettering that became popular again in the 60s.  A native of New York City who got his art training at Cooper Union, Hoffman started out as a staff illustrator at Newsday and then went on to pursue a lifetime career of freelance illustration. He now devotes his time to illustrating children's books.
